The mission of Brother Martin High School is to form young people through a holistic education that fosters academic excellence in a caring, disciplined community which integrates Catholic tradition and the charism of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart to meet the needs of a changing world.
The Key Club’s aim is to develop leadership and good citizenship through Christian service. It is sponsored by the New Orleans Third District Kiwanis club. Its service to school is visible in its white paper recycling program. Members can be seen working in the community throughout the year at Boo at the Zoo, Animal Rescue Center of New Orleans, Super Saturdays at City Park, Mardi Gras Marathon, distributing Thanksgiving baskets to Gentily residents, cleaning up New Orleans cemeteries, rebuilding houses, and working at community gardens. The Key Club chapter is part of an international organization that gives opportunity for students to network with members of other schools. Annually, various schools gather for fun and service with others schools at Divisional Rally and LAMISSTENN District Convention. Being a member allows for a great way to make new friends at BMHS and beyond through the spirit of service.
