Ryan Simoneaux ’18 Honored with Chevron Award

Congratulations to Ryan Simoneaux ’18 on being the recipient of Chevron’s High School Scholar Athlete of the Week award which recognizes a male and female high school senior from the GNO area. Kickin’ It at 2017 Soccer Camp

The Brother Martin Crusaders welcomed participants ages five to twelve years old to the 2017 Brother Martin Soccer Camp. The five-day camp was held in July at the Audubon Park soccer fields behind the Zoo. Robbins and Swilling Recognized for Athletics

Congratulations to Blake Robbins ’18 and Tré Swilling ’17 who were recognized for their talents by two local newspapers. 2017 Soccer Convocation

The Athletic Department hosted a convocation honoring the Crusader soccer program and the district 6-I varsity champions. Previously, the Crusaders had won the district title in 2014 and brought it back to Elysian Fields this season. Blake Robbins Named to All-Metro Soccer Team

Congratulations to Blake Robbins, Class of 2018, for being named to the 2017 & Times Picayune All-Metro Soccer team. Robbins was a driving force this season for the Crusader soccer team. His offensive skills were also key in various games this season. Soccer is a winter sport. The season begins in November and playoffs are concluded in February. Tryouts are usually in the first week of November, but for many returning team members, practice never ends. Many players get together informally during the summer months to train and prepare for the season.

The Soccer program is built on a strong foundation of excellence. State Championship victories in 2000 and 2001 have brought the program to the pinnacle of the sport. Numerous playoff appearances have kept Brother Martin Soccer in the spotlight. Many All-District and All-State Athletes have grown with the program and have gone on to play on the next level.

There are four divisions: junior high (8th), 9th grade, junior varsity (10th- 11th), and varsity (9th – 12th). Games and tournaments are held throughout the week.
