Message from the Principal

Welcome to Brother Martin High School, a Catholic, college preparatory high school serving boys in grades 8-12 and operating under the auspices of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart in the Province of the United States. Our mission is to form young men for life through a commitment to the educational tradition of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart.

While our philosophy and teaching methods share many aspects in common with Catholic education across the country, we have developed an educational tradition that has become our hallmark after more than 150 years of educational excellence in the unique charism of our founder, Father Andre’ Coindre.

We believe in a holistic approach to education, and we view every encounter with our young men as a teachable moment - an opportunity to form our students to good.

Because we believe that everything we do teaches our students something, we have committed ourselves as a school community to build a spirit that promotes religious values; is committed to academic excellence; emphasizes personal attention for each student; and promotes friendly discipline through a welcoming and disciplined environment.

Our educational tradition includes an instruction that embraces enthusiasm, preparation, vigilance, and accountability; moral formation of our students by creating in them a sense of responsibility to serve others; and bearing witness to mature Christian living by modeling prayer, demonstrating a fervent dedication to teaching, and modeling respect.

At Brother Martin High School, our faculty and students work together as a community united by the power of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. By providing education that is rooted in Religious Values, Academic Excellence, Personal Attention, and Friendly Discipline, we believe that our students will learn to use their many gifts and talents, granted by God, to make our school, our community, and our world a better place.

On behalf of our entire school community, thank you for visiting our website. We love to share our story, and we hope that you will share it with others as well.

Sincerely,

Ryan J. Gallagher ’00
Principal
