2017 Football Convocation

The annual convocation held last week marked an end to the Crusader 2016 football season. Family and friends of the football program came together to honor the 2016 state semi-finalist football team. Both Coach Sal Brocato ’88 and ninth grade coach Malcolm Robinson highlighted their respective junior high teams’ season accomplishments. Crusaders Earn Nods in Football

Congratulations to the Crusaders for being selected to the The New Orleans Advocate’s All-District football team. Crusaders that were selected for the First-team offense were Bruce Jordan-Swilling ’17 and Jeremy Singleton ’17.  Matthew Alfonso ’18, Matthew Clapp ’17 and Jabari Watts ’18 were selected to the First-team defense. Dominic Brocato ’17 Named a Top Performer

Congratulations to Dominic Brocato ’17 (#47) on being named one of the top performers at the Rubio Long Snapping Camp. This past weekend Dominic traveled to Kennesaw, Georgia to train with world renown long snapping instructor Chris Rubio. Dominic competed against approximately 100 participants from all over the United States and Canada and made it deep into the finals competition. Crusaders Recognized by the Clarion Herald

Congratulations to the members of the Crusader football team on being named to the 2016 Clarion Herald’s Elite Boys’ football team. Crusaders Fall Short to Hornets in Semifinals

The Crusaders traveled to take on the Scotlandville Hornets in a Division I semifinal matchup on Friday night. Unfortunately, the Hornets were able to edge out a 18 – 16 victory over the Crusaders in Baton Rouge. Late in the game with a chance to tie, Bruce Jordan-Swilling was stopped just short of the goal line on a two-point conversion. The Football Program consists of four levels of competition: eighth grade, ninth grade, junior varsity, and varsity.
