Crusader Football Season Ends with Loss to Catholic in Quarterfinals

On Friday night, with no time remaining and trailing 48- 49, the Crusaders elected to attempt a two-point conversion to try and win the game. Running Back Bruce Jordan-Swilling ’17, who already had two touchdowns on the night, received the handoff and ran through the right side, but was stopped just short of the goal line by the Bears defense. Crusaders vs. Catholic High Selected as Playoff Game of Week

The Crusader football team will play  Catholic High this Friday night in the quarterfinal round of the state playoffs.  Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. at Tad Gormley Stadium.  The playoff game has been chosen as the Cox 4 Prep Game of the Week on Cox Sports Television and will air on Channel 4. Niels Dickson ’16 Named to LHSAA All-Academic Teams

Congratulations, Niels Dickson ’16! Dickson was named to the Composite and Class All-Academic Teams for Cross Country.  Niels will be honored for his accomplishment at the State Meet in Natchitoches this week.  The LHSAA / Exxon Mobil All-Academic Award Program presented by ISC recognizes the academic excellence of senior student-athletes who have attained a 3.5 GPA or higher. Jake Broggi ’16 Named Athlete of the Week

Congratulations to Jake Broggi ’16 who has been named | The Times-Picayune’s Male Athlete of the Week for November 1st-7th. Broggi, is the quarterback for the Crusaders who went 15-of-22 for 350 yards and six touchdowns in the Crusaders 49-46 victory against Jesuit on November 6th at Tad Gormley Stadium. The Football Program consists of four levels of competition: eighth grade, ninth grade, junior varsity, and varsity. Team selections for the varsity and junior varsity teams are made through a tryout process.

Participation at the junior high and ninth grade levels is limited only by medical or physical concerns.
