Wrestling State Champions Present State Trophy to Crusaders

During Monday’s morning assembly, our student body gathered to celebrate the Brother Martin Varsity Wrestling Team’s State Championship! Crusader Wrestling Claims 18th State Championship Title!

Congratulations to our Crusader Wrestling team for winning their 18th State Championship Title! The Crusaders finished with 319.5 points and finished almost 90 points in front of the 2nd place team. Brother Martin had four individual champions, including Connor Hoffman (106 pounds), Daniel Croy (126), Patrick Evans (145) and Mack Brown (285). Crusader Wrestling Takes District Championship Title!

During this past weekend’s Catholic League District Wrestling Meet, Crusader wrestling placed first and won the District 9-5A Championship in dominating fashion. Crusaders capture First Place for Trey Culotta Invitational

Over the Christmas holidays, The Conlin Gym was filled with spectators from near and far to watch high school wrestling teams compete during the 2017 Trey Culotta Invitational. This year, the Invitational expanded to 25 teams. The matches spanned a grueling two days of wrestling with every wrestler guaranteed a minimum of seven matches. Wrestling is a winter sport. The season begins in November and the state tournament is held in February. Conditioning begins in September, and official practice begins the first week of October. The team also competes in both freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling as the Crusader Wrestling Club. The wrestling team consistently has 100 plus members.

The Wrestling program currently holds a school record 15 state championships. The Crusaders have won 103 individual state championship titles since 1972. The 2012-2013 team holds the Louisiana Division I State Tournament record for most points scored with 339. The 2000 team holds the Louisiana Division I State Tournament record for

The team competes in many major out of state tournaments throughout the season.

There are three divisions: junior high (8th and 9th), junior varsity (9th-11th), and varsity (9th-12th). Dual Meets and Tournaments are held throughout the week.
