2015 Swimming Convocation

The Athletic Department hosted a convocation on Monday, December 7th, honoring the Brother Martin swim team.  Head Coach Mark Bordelon summarized the success of the program for those in attendance. Senior Night at District Championship

The Brother Martin swim team faced off against Holy Cross, Jesuit, and Rummel in the District 9-5 A Championship Meet and Senior Night on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at the UNO Aquatic Center. Crusaders finished 3rd with top five finishes from Garrett Frey ‘16 in the 50 yard Freestyle, Shawn Brown ‘17 in the 100 and 200 yard Freestyle, Hunter Appleton ‘19 in the 500 yard Freestyle, Chris Gross ‘16 in the 100 yard Breaststroke, and 200 yard IM. Crusaders Swim to Victory

On Tuesday, October 20th, 2015 the Crusader swim team defeated Vandebilt Catholic, Destrehan, and district rival Holy Cross. First place finishes were Garrett Frey ’16 in the 50 yard freestyle; Shawn Brown ’17 in the 100 yard freestyle; Hunter Appleton ’19 in the 500 yard freestyle; the 400 yard freestyle relay made up of Garrett Frey ’16, Jack Neelis ’16, Faulkner Stewart ’16, and Will East ’16. Crusaders Swim for Support in Breast Cancer Invitational

Congratulations to the Crusader swim team for their 2nd Place finish in the Breast Cancer Invitational meet this past Saturday.  First place finishers were Chris Gross ’16 in the 100 yard breaststroke and in the 200 yard individual medley, and the 400 yard freestyle relay made up of Shawn Brown ’17, Jack Neelis ’16, Faulkner Stewart ’16, and Chris Gross ’16. Swimming is a fall sport lasting from August to mid- November. Some team members continue training with their year- round club teams located throughout the Greater New Orleans area. Practices take place immediately after school at the University of New Orleans Lakefront Arena Aquatic Center.
