Academic Games

What is Academic Games?

Academic Games is a set of individual and team competitions in both logic-based cube games and reading games where team members compete head to head with like-minded individuals from other schools. The Brother Martin Academic Games team plays the mathematical academic games of Equations and On-Sets, the language arts game of Propaganda, and the social studies game of Presidents in the New Orleans Academic Games League. The NOAGL is a member of the Academic Games Leagues of America.

What do we do?

Brother Martin's Academic Games team competes against several other schools from all over the greater New Orleans metro area at local competitions and at the state level. Students who place highest overall in local competition can represent Brother Martin and NOAGL at the annual AGLOA National Tournament held in the spring.

Who can play?

Academic Games is an extracurricular activity for students in all grade levels who like to learn new ideas or like to "out think" their friends. Students with a love for learning different topics are welcome.

When are practices?

The team practices every MondayTuesday, and Wednesday from 3:10 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. in room 119. If you would like to know more about the team, then see Mr. Zeller.

How do I find out more?
