The Brother Martin NJROTC opened their Drill Season at the Ponchatoula High School Marine Corps JROTC Drill Meet. Eighteen schools from Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and Air Force JROTC units competed with local active duty Marines judging the competition.
The Armed Drill Team placed first in inspection and the Armed Drill Team Commander, Cadet Eric Gegenheimer '20, earned the Best Team Commander recognition for his performance.
The Color Guard was narrowly defeated for first place in drill by 6 points out of 300 by St. Amant. The Unarmed Drill Team, consisting of eight first-year Cadets in their first competition, learned the thrill of competition and set the example for other first-year Cadets to follow. All teams performed exceptionally and kicked off the season right!
Come out to the homecoming tailgate in the parking lot in front of Tad Gormley stadium to watch the award-winning Crusader Band, Crusader Cheerleaders, and the Armed Exhibition Drill Team perform samples of their routines. We hope to see you there on November 2nd.
