Our Class of 2025 participated in their Day of Reflection on Tuesday, January 26th. While all of our 9th-12th graders completed their standardized testing, our 8th graders were connecting as a class and learning more in depth about our mission as a Brothers of the Sacred Heart school. The small groups were broken up into religion classes and rotated to different 'stations' throughout the day. Here are the rotations that our 8th graders experienced:
- Contemplative prayer focused on the Spirituality of the Sacred Heart - inside the Branton Chapel.
- Personal prayers on an Art Project (these hand dyed coffee filters will become 'prayer flowers' that will be formed into a bush by our Art Department) in the Bro. Mark Thornton Terrace.
- Discussion session with Principal Ryan Gallagher '00 in the Auditorium.
- Written, silent reflections in the Conlin Gym.
- Guided Meditation on the Sacred Heart, with Dr. Melito, in the St. Aloysius Gym.
- Walking pilgrimage to learn about the St. Aloysius pillar, our 'missing brick', and the Sacred Heart statue in the front of school.
- Faculty and senior student testimonies of what it means to be a Crusader and a student at a Brothers' school outside of the Branton Chapel.
- Small group discussions with senior student ministers on Farley Field.
- 'Three Journeys of the Brothers' and our 8th graders' journey and decisions at the Statue of Mary in the backyard.
Thank you to our Campus Ministry team for putting together a successful day of the reflection for the Class of 2025 on our Brothers of the Sacred Heart history and mission.
