Wednesday night, the Crusader wrestling team met up with Catholic High of Baton Rouge in a dual meet in the Conlin gym. The Crusaders dominated the mats winning 12 of the 14 matches including 8 pins. The win marked a new record for Coach Robbie Dauterive ’84 and Brother Martin for most coaching victories in a career. With the win over Catholic, Coach Dauterive’s record now stands at 155-11 breaking the previous record of 26 years. The previous mark was accomplished over 13 seasons; Coach Dauterive set the new record in 71/2 seasons.
Coach Dauterive has been a part of Brother Martin wrestling for many years. In his career as a coach, he has won 5 state titles and countless district championships. His teams currently hold every record at the state tournament:
At the end of the match, the Athletic Department presented Coach Dauterive with a plaque commemorating this accomplishment.
