Wrestling Heads into State Tournament With St. Paul's Invitational Win

P WilliamsIn the final tournament before the State tournament, Brother Martin reached the finals in 13 of 14 weight classes, and won eight titles on their way to a 1st place finish in the St. Paul’s Invitational. The Crusaders won with 268 points followed by host St. Paul’s with 161 points, Jesuit (146.5), Holy Cross (128), Destrehan (55), Fontainebleau (54), John Ehret (34), Mandeville (34), and Covington (33).  Good luck in the State tournament, Crusaders!

10958704_846861498690136_4045898808098745975_nThe Junior High wrestling team scored 313.5 points and won the Middle School State Championship.  The Crusaders placed 13 in the championship finals and won 5 individual titles.  Patrick Evans capped of an undefeated season and was joined by Ryan Templet, Riley Horvath, Michael Clapp and Mack Brown  as individual state champions.  Finishing as state runnerups were Kohl Prest, Colby Franovich, Seth Alfonso, Bailey Stretzinger, John Stemke, Stephen Nash, Wyatt Vaughn and John Scalise.  Placing 3rd were Daniel Croy, Dominic Fouchi, Aidan Davis, Jack Romano, Noah Williams and John Miltenberger.  Finishing in 4th place were Alex Duncan, Jacob Roy, Logan Coulon and Kyle West.
