Wrestling Alumni Earn All-American Honors

PicMonkey CollageCumberland sophomore, Kyle Delaune, placed fourth and earned All-American honors at the NAIA national tournament held last weekend in Topeka, Kansas.  Wartburg junior, Gerard Roman, placed 6th and earned All-American honors at the NCAA Division III national tournament held in Pennsylvania over this past weekend.  Gerard was also named to the All-Academic team and helped his team to a second place finish at the tournament.

Gerard Roman ’12 competed in the 197 pound weight class this past weekend for Wartburg College in the NCAA Division III National Championships in St. Louis, Missouri.  Roman, a two-time state finalist and one-time champ for the Crusaders, became the second All-American in as many weeks for Brother Martin.  Roman joined his former teammate, Kyle Delaune, in achieving All-American status by finishing 6th at the national championships.  Roman is a junior with one year left providing he does not redshirt.  Wartburg finished the tournament as national runner-ups at the tournament.
