Wrestlers Win Thriller

deep south dualsBrother Martin defeated Jefferson High School (GA) by a majority decision to give it a 30-29 dual meet win over and the 2013 Deep South Bayou Duals championship held at the Baton Rouge River Center.

The Crusaders and the Dragons tied 29-29 in the championship dual meet at the end of regulation.  But, after eight tiebreakers, which was the total of first points scored in all weight divisions of the final match, Brother Martin came out on top. Brother Martin initially appeared to win the title match 29-28 but an appeal by Jefferson resulted in a point awarded to the Dragons, resulting in the tie.

Jefferson High School has won 13 straight state championships in their class.

The Crusaders will wrestle in the Soddy Daisy Duals (TN) over the weekend.
