World Geography Students Create Tasty ‘Plate Tectonics’

In Mrs. Peavey’s world geography class, students have been learning about processes that shape the earth. On Friday, the class was able to demonstrate the theory of Plate Tectonics to describe Continental Drift. By using frosting and graham crackers, students were able to mimic different plate boundaries including convergent, divergent, and transform. The class was then able to see the effect of different plate movements with the crackers acting like the Earth’s crust and the frosting acting like the Earth’s mantle. Our Crusaders were delighted to be able to enjoy their treats after this hands-on lesson!
