Warde Manuel ’86 was recently named athletic director at the University of Connecticut. After spending six years as the athletic director at the University of Buffalo, Manuel will take over one of the largest athletic budgets in college athletics at UConn in a department with great men’s and women’s basketball traditions.
Best remembered in the Crescent City as a Parade All-American defensive tackle out of Brother Martin, Manuel helped lead the Crusaders to a semifinal appearance in the 1985 Class 4A playoffs before signing with the University of Michigan.
