Fifty Brother Martin students joined hundreds of other youths from around the archdiocese on Saturday, March 15th to march against and raise awareness about hunger in our community. Sr. Jane Remson from Bread for the World led the gathering to raise money and awareness about hunger, which affects one out of six children in the New Orleans metropolitan area. The Brother Martin students donated over $500 and non-perishable food items to the cause.
After a brief prayer service at Holy Name of Jesus School on the campus of Loyola University, the students marched a 4.4 mile-long route down St. Charles Ave. to Napoleon Ave. and back to Holy Name along Magazine St. Students from Brother Martin earned service hours toward their service learning projects and enjoyed the company of each other on a beautiful day along the Uptown streets of New Orleans.
