The Windy City was the perfect setting for this year’s Alumni Baseball Trip, an annual event to enjoy time with alumni, family and friends exploring one of America’s greatest baseball communities. The trip kicked off with a chapter social in downtown Chicago at the Hyatt Regency’s Big Bar. Director of Development Kenny Spellman ’84, Director of Alumni Scott Corrente ’83 and Director of Facilities Nick Lagattuta ’71 updated the Midwest chapter on campus activities, including the Phase III construction and future alumni events.
By Friday, it was time for some baseball! The group took the subway to Wrigley Field, watching the Cubs take on the Washington Nationals. And that wasn’t all. The group also visited Navy Pier, Millennium Park, the Magnificent Mile, The Chicago Theatre and Harry Caray’s Tavern, among other stops. They even took in some great views of the city on a Chicago architecture river cruise.
The trip was organized by the Office of Alumni and Development and is always a favorite with those in attendance.
“It’s always great to travel with alumni, family and friends of Brother Martin, but what made it even better was the opportunity we had to spend time with our alumni who live in the Chicago area,” said Corrente.
Thanks to all who attended and helped to make it a great trip! If you are interested in the 2018 Alumni Baseball Trip next summer, please contact the Office of Alumni at 504-284-6700 or email alumni@brothermartin.com.
