Student Council elections will be held today, just one week before the last day of school for seniors. With seniors moving on, many Executive Board positions are up for grabs in the election. Juniors Marvin Hudson and Nickie Toups will be competing for the coveted position of Student Body President, which is currently held by Senior Nolan Lambert. Junior Joseph Porche’ and Sophomore Patrick Newburger are in the running for Vice President. Marvin, Joseph, and Patrick have prior experience on Student Council, while Nickie is a newcomer. There are also three Appointed Executive Board Member positions opening up.
All candidates have been making strides promoting their names in order to rake in the votes and reign victorious come Friday afternoon. All candidates are running on a strong campaign, so there is no obvious front man for any position at this point. Voting for executive board positions is open to all grade levels. Voting will be available all day. Best of luck to all candidates.
