UNO Arena Offering COVID Testing

Marco Perez, Brother Martin class of 1983 and General Manager of the UNO Lakefront Arena, has asked us to disseminate the following information. It may prove helpful to your family if you are trying to find a COVID-19 testing facility.

The UNO Lakefront Arena has been serving as the drive-thru COVID-19 testing site. This has been incredibly beneficial and has helped keep numbers down for this neighborhood and surrounding areas. The test site is open Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Testing is fast, free, easy, and you don’t have to have symptoms to be tested. If you pre-register, it takes less than 10 minutes most days.

Information on How to Register

To register for a FREE COVID-19 test or obtain additional information, please go to https://www.doineedacovid19test.com/. Pre-registration makes the process faster and more efficient, but it is not necessary.

About the test

This is the self-administered coronavirus testing. Nasal swab tests that are typically done by a health care worker can be quite uncomfortable, but that is not the case with self-administered tests.

  • First, you're handed a swab and a tube
  • Next, open the swab and remove from the pouch
  • Tilt head back slightly, insert swab into left nostril, rotate twice and hold for 15 seconds
  • Repeat on the other nostril
  • Once you're done, place the swab into the tube, seal it and return it to the healthcare worker.

Test results should be provided by email notification within 3 - 5 days (individuals will be required to log back into the website to view their results). There is NO phone number to call for results.

More Information can be found on the UNO Lakefront Arena website:

We hope that no one in your family needs to be tested, but we wanted to provide this information to those who may need it.
