Two Types of Football

Brother Martin hosted a week long soccer camp on Farley Field last week for 45 boys and girls ages 5-12.  This five-day camp emphasized ball skills such as passing, trapping, heading, and shooting. Drills and small-sided games, organized by Head Soccer Coach Louis Smothermon, helped develop offensive and defensive skills.

Last week, Brother Martin also played host to 46 boy campers for the annual football camp.  Head Coach Mark Bonis ran the non-contact camp with an emphasis on technique, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. There was also a period of each day dedicated to speed and strength training.  Our overall goal for this camp was to increase our participants’ self-esteem through success in athletics.
