Trey Herty '03 Wins Gambit's Emerging Chefs Challenge

Congratulations to Sous Chef Trey Herty ’03 for winning Gambit’s Emerging Chefs Challenge on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at The Cannery. Currently, Herty is a sous chef at Brown Butter Southern Kitchen & Bar located in Mid City. He prepared a slow roasted pork belly with peaches, peas and ricotta that helped him capture a trophy and a reward of $1,000. The competition hosted sous chefs from 15 New Orleans restaurants including Restaurant August, Domenica, Shaya, Brennan’s New Orleans, Ralph’s on the Park, Peche Seafood Grill, and Dick & Jenny’s. According to Gambit, the Emerging Chefs Challenge honors the “Krewe of Sous” and recognizes the next generation of talented sous chefs around the New Orleans area.
