Juancarlos Torres ’16 was recently featured in the The New Orleans Advocate for receiving the Prix d’Excellence award from L’Union Française in New Orleans. Torres was one out of 14 students who received this award which recognizes various achievements in the French language. The award is given out to students who have been enrolled in a French language program for at least three years while demonstrating an enthusiasm for the language and culture of France. In addition, they must excel in the study of French with emphasis on oral communication.
Torres graduated from Brother Martin with honors and was a member of the National Honor Society (NHS), Excalibur NHS, Mu Alpha Theta, etc.
L’Union Française is the oldest of the Franco-Louisiana organizations. After more than a century of service, the organization is dedicated to the mission of promoting the usage and love of the French language in the city of New Orleans.
