Torrance “T.J.” Small ’20 Commits to West Point

Brother Martin High School Senior Torrance "T.J." Small has committed to play college basketball at the United States Military Academy at West Point. T.J. made an official visit and felt that the opportunity to go to West Point was too much to pass up. A day after returning from New York, he decided to forego a visit to a second university and informed West Point of his decision. "I am blessed and privileged to be able to go to Army West Point. Not every kid has this chance to go there," said Small. He continued, "The Academy is one of the top schools in the nation."

Small will serve as senior captain for this year's Crusader basketball squad. He is a six-year member of the program, and he returns after a junior year when he led the team in scoring and received multiple accolades including All-District and Clarion Herald Elite Team Honors. "I believe T.J. is primed to have a monster year," Coach Chris Biehl said. "He has worked relentlessly since the end of last season. He has added considerable weight, and he has grown an inch or two. Army is getting an outstanding basketball player and an even better person. Among all of the players whom I have ever coached, no player has been more deserving to attend such an outstanding institution."

Congratulations to T.J. on this outstanding accomplishment. We look forward to seeing him excel both on the court and in the classroom, and we know that T.J. will take advantage of all the opportunities afforded him at the United States Military Academy at West Point.
