Brother Dwight Kenney, S.C. ’71, spoke to all eighth grade Religion classes about careers and vocations. The students explored many career opportunities with Bro. Dwight, but they also explored the only four basic vocations for Catholic men: Single Christian male, Married Christian male, Brother, and Priest. Each vocation is a calling, and Brother said, “ALL are good and all are holy.”
Dylan Cook was one of the many eighth graders that sat in on Bro. Dwight’s presentation. He remembered Bro. Dwight talking about his first thoughts of Brothers. Dwight said, “First, he thought that the Brothers were special people and he wasn’t worthy of being a Brother. When he got to know them, they were normal people.”
The daily life and formation of a Brother of the Sacred Heart(BOSH) was described. The students asked Bro. Dwight all sorts of questions and were genuinely interested in his story.
Brother Dwight has been a Brother of the Sacred Heart for over 41 years and recently returned to Brother Martin this school year for his third time. He has been a teacher, Guidance Counselor at many of the BOSH schools in the South throughout his career. We are so happy to have Bro. Dwight back at Brother Martin where he is working in the Formation Center assisting students with their academic studies.
