This spring, Brother Martin High School invites 5th, 6th, and 7th-grade boys and girls to participate in our second, annual, "Joy of the Resurrection” essay contest. Brother Martin is excited to once again partner with schools and/or church parishes to showcase our young adults and their understanding of Easter.
Submit an essay of 200 to 300 words on the topic “The Call to Discipleship.” Jesus’ death and resurrection transformed His disciples and renewed their commitment to sharing the Gospel message. How are we today, in 2022, “called to discipleship?” How can we spread the “Good News” of Jesus in our homes, schools, and communities?
Entries must be received by Brother Martin High School by Tuesday, April 12th at 3 p.m. Entries can be submitted electronically or in print. Sorry, but late entries will not be accepted.
Email to: tmavor@brothermartin.com or Mail to: Mr. Thomas Mavor, Brother Martin High School, 4401 Elysian Fields Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70122.
Format: The essay should be typed double spaced and in size 11 or 12 font. The student’s name, grade level, and current school should be included on a separate, but attached page.
Awards: A first and second place winner will be chosen in each of the grade categories: 5th, 6th, and 7th grades.
Participation and winner recognition will occur during the week of April 25th. Special prizes for the essay contest will be announced with the winning recipients.
