The “Dream” 50 Years Later!

100_2587 1Five seniors represented Brother Martin High School at a prayer service on the front lawn of Notre Dame Seminary on Wednesday, August 28, which was hosted by Archbishop Gregory Aymond to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington, D.C., for Jobs and Freedom. Mayor Landrieu addressed the crowd and stated that he was in Washington, D.C., and in the White House yesterday at the invitation of President Obama. The mayor told the crowd that yesterday he was standing at the spot where fifty years ago, Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., gave his “I Have a Dream” Speech and then a few hours later stood in the White House and shook the hand of the first African-American President of the United States. Archbishop Aymond the crowd to have their own dreams of justice and equality.
