JV tennis defeated St. Martin’s 6-1 on Thursday, April 7th at UNO. Singles teams winners consisted of Peter Algero ‘17, Devin Sambola ‘17, and Hasan Al-Shaar ’18. Doubles teams winners were Dawson Miller ‘17-John Ungarino ‘17, Peter Algero ‘17 – Hasan Al-shaar ‘18, and Devin & Gavin Sambola ‘17. Congratulations to the jv team who ended their season with a 4-2 record.
In addition, varsity defeated Newman 5-2. After splitting the four Singles, the three Doubles teams swept their matches. Zachary Brubaker ‘17-Ian Sigl ’16 (line one) earned an 8-6 victory. Matthew Spieler ‘16 – Nathan Long ’17 (line two) clinched the team victory with an amazing consecutive five game strong finish winning 8-6. Chris Russo ‘18 – Corey Canzoneri ‘17 (line 3) won 8-4. The varsity team finished the regular season 7-2.
