Congratulations to the Crusader Marching Band and the Dominican Debs for their straight superior ratings at this year’s District VI Band Directors Association Marching Festival, held at Joe Yenni Stadium. Under the leadership of Drum Major Brett Storms and Band Director Dominick Caronna ’85Â and Assistant Band Director Chris Bailey ’86, the band performed “Sierra Sister,” “Mercy, Mercy,” “It Had Better Be Tonight,” and the Marty Hurley-arranged “Cantina Percussion.” All four elements–percussion, auxiliary (The Debs), drum major, and overall band–received superior ratings. At the end of the evening, Mrs. Paulette Hurley presented special awards to the superior percussion lines, including the Crusader Drum Line, in honor and in memory of Mr. Marty Hurley.
