Student Ministers Visit Eighth-Grade Religion Classes

One of the main activities Brother Martin Student Ministers coordinate is the 8th-Grade Visit Program. The Student Ministers arrive at the 8th-grade religion classes and break off into small groups to share their experiences as Crusaders and help guide the 8th-graders in any way possible. These visits are meant to provide a more caring and comfortable environment for our newest Crusaders.

The theme of the 8th-grade visit that took place on Wednesday, September 19th, was “Transitions”.  This theme was developed and organized by the student ministry junior high ministry committee. In groups, the student ministers centered discussion around the shift that students are experiencing from grammar school to high school and providing advice on how this transition can become more natural and smooth. They urged students to partake in the many extracurricular activities Brother Martin has to offer in order to become better acclimated to the school. Senior student ministers stressed the importance of all students striving to reach their highest academic potential, and they instructed the 8th-graders on Mass etiquette. We are confident that our 8th-grade visits have a positive impact on the new students and challenge them to be the best Crusaders they can be.
