Strong Offense Leads Crusaders to Victory

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAFour high schools competed in the first ever Brothers of the Sacred Heart Jamboree this past weekend, held at the football stadium at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux. Holy Cross defeated Houma’s Vandebilt Catholic in the first game. The Crusaders then defeated Thibodaux’s E.D. White’s Cardinals in the second game.  Leading the charge for the Crusaders were Jared West, Jake Broggi, and Bruce Jordan-Swilling.  West finished with 91 total yards, 75 receiving and 16 rushing, and scored two first-half TDs to take a 14-0 halftime lead.  Broggi completed 12 of 15 passes for 187 yards and a TD.

In the second half, Bruce Jordan-Swilling rushed for 100 yards on the first two series of the second half and scored a pair of touchdowns for Brother Martin.

Thanks to all the players, coaches, cheerleaders, band members, alums, parents, and fans who came to support the Crusaders to victory. Our next game is Friday, September 5th at Patterson, Louisiana.
