Wednesday afternoon on Farley Field was thought out to be a tough district battle between the Crusaders and the Raiders, but the score line would prove otherwise. Brother Martin started off fast and took down the Raiders 5-2 to improve to 9-1-5 on the season.
The Crusader offense got early shots on net creating many chances and the first goal. The first goal came on a penalty shot from William Thiele who sent his shot low and right to go up 1-0.
The second goal came just minutes later as Thiele sent a long pass to Blake Robbins who ripped a shot into the back of the net giving Brother Martin the 2-0 lead.
The Crusaders put one more in the net before the first half ended. Patrick Quinn scored on a deflected shot attempt from Ryan Simoneaux to give the Crusaders a 3-0 lead.
At the start of the second half, Simoneaux would get another chance to score as he split the Raider defense and launched a shot passed the goalkeeper to extend the lead to 4-0.
Rummel tried to attempt a comeback and scored two goals in the second half, but another converted penalty shot by Thiele squandered any chance for a Raider comeback.
The Crusaders gear up next for a big district game against Jesuit on Saturday at home at noon for the top spot in District 9-I.
