Seth Meyer's poem...

Keeping Christ in Christmas

During this wonderful time of year,
Let us not forget the reason for our cheer
As it is easy to lose sight
About why we celebrate this special night.

Christmas time is always fun,
But let us remember God’s only Son
As His gift to you and me
Is way more important than anything under a tree.

Everyone likes to get new things,
But that is not all Christmas brings.
Many families get together and cheer
While praising Him who we hold dear.

Although adoring Him is a choice,
He is the real reason my family and I rejoice
As we chose to always remember
The real reason we celebrate this December.

The Office of Catholic Schools selected winners in three divisions: grades 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. The contest is promoted by the Christ in Christmas Committee, which coordinates the placement of “Keep Christ in Christmas” billboards throughout the Archdiocese of New Orleans. To donate to the billboard cause for 2020, go to www.keepchristinchristmasnola.org.
