Brother Martin won 84-41 against South Plaquemines on Wednesday night in Buras with the help of senior Brock Ranlett '21, who recorded a career-high 30 points.
The Crusaders pulled ahead early, claiming a 34-24 lead at the half. Ranlett was the front runner for Brother Martin's offense with 30 points, including 12 during the first period. He also contributed seven rebounds.
Three other players also racked up double-digit scores for Brother Martin. Senior Grant DeLord '21 had 24 points, Senior Rex Hernandez '21 scored 11 points, and Freshman Parker Dinsale '24 contributed 10 points. Also contributing for Brother Martin were Freshman Eli Pichon '24 (7 points, 7 rebounds, 1 steal) and Sophomore DJ Fowler '23 (2 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals). DeLord was a big defensive contributor as well, racking up seven rebounds and two steals.
Brother Martin finished the game with 48 rebounds (22 offensive / 26 defensive) and eight steals. The Crusaders play their first home game on Friday night against M.L.K. Charter. Tip-off will be at 7:00 PM.
