Seniors Recognized with Scholastic Writing Awards

DSC00108Congratulations to five Crusader seniors who earned recognition in the Southeast Regional round of the Scholastic Writing Awards, a national creative writing competition. These authors submitted written stories that successfully earned awards in three different categories.

The Scholastic Writing Awards receives over 300,000 submissions annually from writers in grades 7-12 and has featured many renowned writers as judges, including Langston Hughes, Robert Frost, and Judy Blume, among others. Jurors look for works that exemplify the Awards’ core values: originality, technical skill, and the emergence of personal voice or vision.

These Crusader writers will be honored at a ceremony at University of New Orleans’ Grand Ballroom on April 15th. Congratulations again to these Crusader writers!
