Sixty-three seniors attended their senior retreat on October 23rd and 24th at the Solomon Episcopal Conference Center outside of Robert, Louisiana. The basic theme of the Journey to Manhood proved to be an engaging and thought provoking experience. Major talks on this quest, on the role of a strong male mentor, and on the presence of a father figure added depth to the retreat experience and encouraged active participation in small groups. Two outstanding presentations on the basic truths of the soul led to a moving liturgy that ended our day on Sunday, only to be followed by a unique and captivating encounter with nature Monday morning. Each senior retreat proves to be a remarkable memory for the presenters, the staff, and the students, but this retreat marked the 50th retreat anniversary of providing to our seniors an overnight experience. Special thanks to Tom Baier, Judy Stewart, and Brother Louis Couvillon, S.C. for organizing this retreat.
