Congratulations to Dwight Alexander ‘22, who was selected as a Posse scholar and awarded a full four-year scholarship to Case Western Reserve University. The Posse Foundation looks for students who are leaders in their school and community, committed to their education, interested in teamwork and diversity, and positive, ambitious, students. The Posse Foundation had 15,000 eligible students apply and 670 were chosen as scholars.
Dwight first learned of the Posse Scholarship through his nominator, Ms. Yvette Endom of the PLEASE Foundation. He explained that without her support, he would have missed out on this amazing opportunity. After applying for the Posse scholarship, Dwight was interviewed three times before finding out that he was a recipient. Dwight said, “Receiving this scholarship means a great deal to me. Ms. Yvette, as well as Posse and Case Western saw my hard work, dedication, and abilities. Most importantly, they saw me. They all took a chance on me because they believed in me. It means so much to me to have such a large number of people believe in me and what I can do. I am eternally grateful.” Dwight’s intended major is psychology with a minor in comparative literature. He has always been intrigued by the inner workings of the mind and has a passion for helping others.
Congratulations to Dwight for this amazing achievement and to all of our seniors who strive for success and excellence in all that they do.
