Delgado sophomore Sean McMullen was recently honored with two post-season awards from the National Junior College Athletic Association.
McMullen, the Dolphins’ starting centerfielder for the past two seasons, earned Honorable Mention status on the NJCAA All-American team after posting a .452 batting average over his fifty-two games played during the 2012 campaign. In 186 at-bats, McMullen posted 84 hits including 21 doubles, 9 triples, 5 home runs, 66 runs and 37 RBI. As centerfielder, he earned 113 putouts and a .983 fielding percentage.
In addition, Sean was also named a 2012 NJCAA Superior Academic Achievement Honoree, posting a 3.86 cumulative GPA over his four semesters at Delgado Community College.
McMullen, an LSU commitment, was previously named to the All-Miss-Lou Conference team and the All-Region XXIII Team. He finished the 2012 season with one of the Top Ten batting averages in the nation at the JUCO level.
