Brother Martin High School has as one of its top priorities protecting all of our students, faculty, and staff – always providing a total school environment that is considered a ‘sanctuary.’ The Archdiocese of New Orleans requires that the Religion Department teachers present Safe Environment Training for all students, 8th-12th grades, each school year. This training took place on October 12 and 13 in Religion classes. During the two days, students learned about being aware of physical, emotional, and mental abuse as well as how to ask for help in those situations. The students also went through safe online and cell phone practices when it comes to social media, searching the web, and texting. The Safe Environment Training that we provide for all of our students is yet one more step that is taken to ensure that our students are safe in their community. Our faculty, staff, and volunteers go through a similar training in the beginning of each school year as well.
