The 26th President of the United States visited Brother Martin this week as an enrichment activity for the 2011 Great Read, Candice Millard’s The River of Doubt: Theodore Roosevelt’s Darkest Journey. Roosevelt reprisor Joe Wiegand spoke to hundreds of students all day in the auditorium as the notable President. He told stories about his time in the White House, his childhood and family life, and his
experience in South America. Students had the opportunity to ask questions as well. In the final minutes of each period, Mr. Wiegand “broke character” and spoke to the Crusaders about his research and his work as a reprisor.
