On Saturday, November 19, family and friends of Brother Martin joined together for the 2016 “Celebration of the Crest”- Extravaganza at the New Orleans Marriott. This event, sponsored by the Brother Martin Parents Club, is the school’s largest fundraiser of the year and benefits the student body. Over 700 guests included parents, friends, alumni of St. Aloysius, Cor Jesu, and Brother Martin, as well as faculty and staff. Keeping with the ‘Crimson & Gold’ theme throughout the night, guests donned their best cocktail attire for a great evening of excellent food, drink, music and a selection of over 230 silent and live auction items. In addition to our items, the “Best of Live Raffle” and “52 Raffle” made their debut this year adding to our other successful raffles. A jazz quartet entertained Patrons at the Patron Party and The Bench Warmers were the entertainment for the main event. Student Ambassadors and Cheerleaders were also in attendance eager to assist with the festivities. The chair-couple for the event was Jodi and Lindsey Williams ’83 and co-chair-couples were Missy and Mark Hildreth and Ami and Charles Martinez ’85. The Patron Party chairs were Lisa and Sal Brocato III ’88 and Kathleen and Al Roevens ’81.
Live items up for bidding at the Live Auction included a three-night stay at an Oster Golf House on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail donated by Rick Oster ’79, an original painting by Bro. Carl Bouchereau, S.C., a private Mass in the James B. Branton Chapel, a Pelicans Hometown Hoops Package donated by David Ward ‘83 of PepsiCo, a Sicilian dinner for eight hosted by Marian and Nick Lagattuta ’71 and many more!
