Brother Martin Crusaders and guests gathered for the Call to Leadership Mass on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 in the Conlin Gymnasium. Brother Louis Couvillon, S.C. and Deacon David Ducote ’04 presided over this last school wide liturgy of the year. During his homily, Brother Louis called upon the class of 2017 to take on the leadership role for their fellow classmates. He also requested that they remember their blessings of the past and look forward to the challenges of their futures. Then, the 2015-2016 Student Council President Marvin Hudson passed the ceremonial gavel onto the newly elected Student Council President, Benjamin Wisniewski, as a representation of accepting the call to lead the Brother Martin Crusaders. Principal Greg Rando ’77 closed the Mass with a special thanks to Vice Principal for Academics Mr. Thomas Mavor for his leadership role and service to Brother Martin. Mr. Mavor will be answering a call to be part of the administration team at St. Stanislaus College in Bay St. Louis, MS.
In addition, family members of students were invited to Mass who were inducted into the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) at the conclusion of Mass in a ceremony/reception in the Benson Mall. There were 92 students inducted into the NJHS. Assisting in the ceremony were Mrs. Marilyn Meyn, Thomas Mavor, and Mr. Greg Rando ’77 who gave certificates to recipients.
Job well done, Crusaders!
