Open the Doors!

IMG_0055After months of waiting and extensive renovations, today the doors to the backyard were opened for students to enjoy the new plaza-like space directly behind the Mall and Conlin Gymnasium. Thanks to the many benefactors who made this project available so that students have a beautiful and practical place to gather. This work includes new sidewalks, benches and tables, a large “green screen” wall, and extensive landscaping including new oak and drake elm trees. With the construction of the Ridgley Fine Arts and Athletic Center in 1999, the Meyer Science and Math Building in 2007, and the James B. Branton Chapel in 2011, Brother Martin’s college-like campus continues to grow and pull students toward the extensive and beautiful back yard.
