On Friday, March 22nd, the NJROTC unit loaded onto a bus and headed towards Ole Miss in Oxford, Mississippi, to compete in the Ole Miss Area 8 Championship Drill Meet on Saturday March 23rd. The unit competed in Armed, Unarmed and Color Guard drill routines and also took the Academic Test. The athletics portion of the meet was canceled due to the amount of rain that took place in the afternoon. The unit placed 3rd in Personnel Inspection, 2nd in Armed Exhibition and 4th Overall. The Unit competed against 12 other schools from the Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida area and managed to come in fourth out of twelve schools.
