NJROTC Has a New Leader

IMG_2298On Thursday, April 24th the NJROTC Unit held its 47th Annual Change of Command and Awards Ceremony. The ceremony recognized outstanding cadets for their performance and dedication to the NJROTC program. Cadet Matthew R. Suarez was presented with his official appointment to the United States Naval Academy (class of 2018).

During the Change of Command Ceremony Cadet Commander David G. Trepagnier, Jr. ’14 was relieved as Cadet Commander by his brother Harrison A. Trepagnier ’15. This marks the first time in the history of the unit that brothers have been back to back cadet commanders.

The Brother Martin Community would like to take this opportunity to say “thank you” Major Lester E. Amick, III, USMC (Ret.) for his dedication to Brother Martin High School and in particular the NJROTC program. Major Amick answered the call to return for the 2014 school year after the departure of his original relief. After 24 years of service to Brother Martin he is going back into retirement.

Brother Martin wants to welcome home Commander Bruce D. Nolan, USN BM 90’. Commander Nolan and his family will be retiring from active duty and returning to the New Orleans area in July. He is looking forward to taking over for Major Amick and continuing to make Brother Martin NJROTC an outstanding unit in area 8.
