On Friday, August 24 and Saturday, August 25, 42 cadets from the Brother Martin NJROTC participated in the USS Alabama overnight trip. On Friday, Cadets were able to tour the aircraft pavilion, the USS Drum submarine, and various aircraft and military vehicles around the USS Alabama Memorial Park. Later that night, cadets played a game of “Capture the Flag” aboard the vessel, and then slept in the enlisted quarters. On Saturday, the cadets rode to the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola and toured the museum, rode in simulators of naval aircraft, and then viewed an IMAX movie. This excursion is just the first of many exciting and interesting trips for the cadets this year.
