NJROTC Executes Successful Christmas Toy Drive and Issues Christmas Giving Tree Challenge

The NJROTC concluded a successful “Toy Drive” on Thursday, 8 December 2011 that resulted in the collection of over 400 toys.  The event was conducted in support of The Children’s Hospital of New Orleans.  The goals of the “Toy Drive” are to ensure that the sick or ailing children of the local community are not forgotten during the Christmas Holidays and to bring them joy and comfort during this time of the year.  Most of the toys that were collected were donated by NJROTC Cadets as well as by Faculty, Staff and Brother Martin students not affiliated with the NJROTC.  The Brother Martin NJROTC looks forward to making this an annual event and would like to thank the Brother community that participated in this successful endeavor.

The NJROTC will sponsor (6) children from the Christmas Giving Tree as of 9 December 2011.   The Cadets will choose (3) boys and (3) girls from the Christmas Giving Tree located in the Brother Martin Mall area and will do their best to make this a special Christmas for these children.  The Christmas Giving Tree supports less fortunate children in the local community.  The NJROTC would like to challenge all other Brother Martin Activities to match their efforts in order to ensure that no child is forgotten during this Christmas.
