The National Honor Society inducted fifty-four juniors on Sunday in the James B. Branton Chapel. The National Honor Society was founded in 1921 and it is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. The National Honor Society seeks “to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop character in the students of secondary schools.” Membership is both an honor and a commitment. The National Honor Society not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.
