Mu Alpha Theta Recognition Keeps ‘Adding Up’

unnamedThe Mu Alpha Theta Club, the national high school math honor society, has been very active.  During the month of January, they competed in both the Baton Rouge High Tournament and the Catholic High Tournament.

At the Baton Rouge High Tournament, the following students earned recognition for their stellar performance in Division I of the event:

Les Levy ‘17 placed 3rd in the Bizz Buzz Competition, Hunter Mathas ‘17 (Honorable Mention – Calculus AB Individual),  Ben Chanes ‘18 (Honorable Mention – Pre-calculus Individual), Calculus Math Bowl – 3rd Place (Team of: Jonathan Gacharna ‘17, Austin Kain ‘17, Justin Levy ‘17, and Hunter Mathas ‘17)

At the Catholic High Tournament, the following Mathletes earned recognition for excelling in Division I:

Calculus Team Test (2nd Place) – Les Levy ‘17, Nathan Nguyen ‘17, and Thang Nguyen ‘17 and Calculus AB Math Bowl (4th Place) – Jacob Detiege ‘17, Austin Kain ‘17, Hunter Mathas ‘17, and Patrick Newburger ‘17

The Crusader Mathletes will be in action again at the Descartes Competition at Cabrini High School on Monday, February 13.
