Mu Alpha Theta Places 3rd in St. Paul’s Tournament

The Brother Martin Mathletes came away with 3rd place in Division 2 of the St. Paul's Mu Alpha Theta Tournament on Saturday, September 15th. Mu Alpha Theta Club President, Y Ho '19, said, "It's so good to get the first Mu Alpha Theta Tournament started.  We've been practicing all summer, so it's good to start the MA0 season off strong."

MA0 Moderator, Patrick McClain, noted, "We had a strong turnout from the juniors and seniors (18 total students), but if we really want to compete at the top level, we're going to need a stronger turnout from our 8th, 9th, and 10th grader Crusader Mathletes (0 students at the St. Paul's Tournament)."

Results are as follows:
Individual Test:

  • 2nd Place - Algebra 2 Individual - Connor Larose
  • Honorable Mention - Trigonometry Individual - Carlos Fernandez

Team Test:

  • Comp Math 2 Team Test - 3rd Place - BMHS Team B (Brandon Hoang, Nathan Levandoske, Nathan Lien, and Jordan Nguyen)
  • Honorable Mention - BMHS Team A (Connor Larose, Jarrod Lowe, Gabe O'Regan, and Carson Scott)

Interschool Team Test:

  • 3rd Place (Justin Chambers, Carlos Fernandez, Y Ho, Hunter Kael, Chase Landry, Grant LaPeyronnie, Will Oertling, Chris Stassi, Zach Stolberg, Bennett Clark, Brandon Hoang, Connor Larose, Nathan Levandoske, Nathan Lien, Jarrod Lowe, Jordan Nguyen, Gabe O'Regan, Carson Scott)

Sweepstakes:

  • 3rd Place in Division 2

MA0 Vice-President, Carlos Fernandez '19, added, "3rd Place is a great way to begin.  I'm proud of our MA0 boys!"

The Crusader Mathletes will next be in action at the Ben Franklin Tournament on October 20th.  The 8th Grade Mathletes will be competing in the Cabrini Middle School Math Tournament the weekend before.
