“Moving Towards God”- Crusaders Celebrate All Saints’ Day!

The Brother Martin community gathered for Liturgy on Friday, November 1st to celebrate the Church's All Saints' Day feast. Rev. Dennis Hayes ‘78, who ministers at the University of New Orleans Newman Center, was the celebrant. He shared with students a science lesson he learned in Brother Maurus Bordelon's Physics class his senior year: he learned that speed and velocity are two different concepts. Velocity is both speed and direction combined. Using the Gospel reading today--the Beatitudes from Matthew's Gospel, Father Hayes encouraged us to consider our spiritual speed and, more importantly, our spiritual direction. We cannot just be moving; we have to always move toward God and his message of love.
